Using Real-Time Monitoring in KurtSPC System

Dear User,

Using KurtSPC you can view Data Collection Live on any computer. This unique feature is very beneficial to Line Engineers, Supervisors, as they need to guide the operators throughout the process. Generally Supervisors visits the Operators every half OR every one hour, OR if the Operators calls for help. Using KurtSPC Supervisor can monitor Data Collection on all nodes from his Computer, and also he can communicate to the Operators. This way he can attend more then one operator at a time and this facilitates instant feedback from the supervisor.

Setting up the Monitor Setup
Click on Network --> Monitor Setup.
Here you can add the data collection nodes to this Monitor Setup. Adding data collection nodes means KurtSPC will keep track of attached nodes and monitor their activity.

Select the background image by clicking on "browse" button. You can change the default path by opening Manage --> Settings window. You can create your plant layout and attach as a bitmap image.
This window has options of changing the text colour, icon size, error blinking, etc.

Now click on Network --> Computer Monitor.
Background Image is displayed with the Data Collection Nodes attached. You can re-position these nodes.

Following are the key points.

  • The node in the bitmap will start blinking if some error is reported at data collection node.
  • Double clicking on any node will display the current activity performed.
  • You can view Mean, Range, Std. Dev, Cp, Cpk, Total Subgroups Collected, Last Subgroup Collected Date/Time, etc. live which is updated with every subgroup collected by the operator.
  • Clicking on "View Graph" button will display the graphs of current chart. And these charts will be live. Means that the chart will be updated instantly when operator completes the subgroup.
  • Node in the bitmap image will start blinking in red if error is reported at Data Collection.

Chart Monitor
Click on Network --> Chart Monitor.
Through this window you will get a quick glance of the data collection on various nodes. List of Data Collection nodes are displayed along with various chart in the data collection. Clicking on any of these chart will present the SP Details like Cp, Cpk, Mean, Range, etc. This is important when you want to have quick look at the data collection nodes.
