Dear User, First of all thank you for your feedback/queries on our recent article on Computerized PDI & FIR Reports using KurtSPC System. This articles focus is on usage of measuring Size, Ovality & Taper in one stroke and Profile Chart of your parameter. You must be producing parts whose size and ovality both are critical
for you. Manually you will be using instruments to measure size and ovality
individually. Even Almost all SPC System providers in India are following
the practice of measuring size and ovality individually. Ideally the system
should be smart enough to measure both the parameters in one stroke. Here
dynamic data collection comes into action. Dynamic data is collected
by taking several measurements over time to determine maximum, minimum
or average measurement.
In the KurtSPC LVDT module, dynamic data is collected at a very high
speed i.e. 250 - 300 reading per second. For e.g. operator takes 4-5 seconds
for one air-plug revolution, means that KurtSPC will capture more than
1,000 readings along the circumference of Bore or OD. And if you divide
this points in 360 degree it will be distributed as almost 4 points per
degree (Against conventional method of checking ovality at two points
i.e 0 & 90 Degree. This is common solution offered by all local Air-Gage
suppliers). This will give you the precise size as well as ovality. KurtSPC
is the only system in India which provides such high speed data collection.
The reason behind this is Software intelligence with a USB based interface.
For your information,a USB connection is thousand times faster than COM
ports. You will get more astonishing facts & figures on "USB
ports over COM ports" from internet. As a quality personnel it is
likely that you may not be aware of USB Ports. Consult your IT Person,
he will explain to you about USB (Universal Serial Bus Controllers) Ports.
