Features

Various Input Protocols

1	Continuous
	Data packets are sent continuously by the input device. A timeout condition will be generated if a packet is not received within a specified timeout duration. Protocols configured with the continuous communications method can only be used when communicating with serial devices.
2	Asynchronous
	Data packets are sent by the device only when initiated by some action at the device. No timeout conditions will be generated for Asynchronous communication methods.
3	Asynchronous – Data
	This method is similar to Asynchronous except that data will be automatically collected once the data packet has been received. This communications method is valid only when used inside of data collection.
4	Polled
	Data packets are sent by the device only when polled by KurtSPC Software by sending a command to the device. This command can consist of a string of specific characters sent to the device or can be sent by toggling one of the hardware handshake lines of the serial port. Data for all data members will be sent by the device when polled. A timeout condition will be generated if no data is received within a specified time after it has been polled. Protocols configured with the polled communications method can only be used with serial devices or devices communicating over the network.
5	Polled by Member
	Data packets are sent by the device only when polled by KurtSPC Software by sending a poll string to the device. Each data member will have a specified poll string; only the data for the member being polled will be sent by the device. A timeout condition will be generated if no data is received within a specified time after it has been polled. Protocols configured with the polled by member communication methods can only be used with serial devices or devices communicating over the network.

Data Storage

KurtSPC Software is a Client/Server Application. So all SPC Data will be stored on Central Server. So if DataCollection PC fails,will you still have all SPC Data located on Central Server.
